I actually already tried doing this (with both 2.4 GHz and 5GHz) and restarted after, but had no change. Yeah I did, I think it was mcafee that I uninstalled, I also have mcafee webadvisor on chrome that I just removed just to check, and there was no change there either - I know a lot of people have problems with mcafee but I had it as the default browser antivirus on my last laptop and it didn't cause any problems with speed...
