acer travelmate p253 now shows no bootable device, the HDD missing in bios

I was using my laptop without the battery then as i was powering down the laptop there was a power outage and my acer travelmate p253 now shows no bootable device, the HDD model is missing in bios, how do i solve this issue without losing my data.

    Doesn't sound good... We're going to need to see if the drive has failed or is only corrupted. Since it's not showing in the BIOS the former is more likely. :( Which P253 model do you have? What drive is in it? There are a bunch of different P253 models, but IIRC they were all vintage 2013 or so, so likely the drive is a HDD instead of a SSD. Probably we're going to want to take it out and connect it to a different computer, do you have the bits and pieces to do that?

    it is a model V5WC1, it has an HDD and not an SSD, the HDD is a WD elements one. I will definitely look for a SATAto USB connector if that's what i need to connect to another computer.i hope its just corupted

    Let us know what you see when it's connected. Maybe post a screen shot of Disk Management with the drive selected.
