cant change resolution

everything looks blurry after i set up my new acer XG270HU monitor and i try to adjust the resolution to what it should be and the monitor just says "no input" and then windows reverts the settings. Im on windows 10 and i have a nvidia geforce rtx 2060 graphics card. can anyone help?

    Right click on your desktop and choose Display Settings. what is shown for Display Resolution and Scale?

    The resolution is set to 1920 x 1080

    the scale is set to 100%

    OK, IIRC the XG270HU is a 2560 x 1440 monitor. Change the 1920 x 1080 to 2560 x 1440 and the fuzzies should go away.

    well thats the problem, i cant change the resolution. it wont let me.

    OK, what does Device Manager say about your system? If the GPU is not recognized it'll put you in the generic display mode which doesn't support very many modes.
