My sister has a Gateway nv7915u and I want to upgrade her WIFI card to a Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260. The wireless router she has at home is a 802.11ac wireless router. The stock WiFi card (Atheros AR5B95) gets 20Mbps max speed. Any idea if the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 WiFi Bluetooth Half Mini Card is compatible with this laptop?

Is that Atheros AR5B95 also in the half-mini PCIe form factor? I had some success in the past going from a full sized mini PCIe to a half-mini because I could re-route the antennae cables to reach the new card.

But if they are the same length, I don't see why they shouldn't be compatible: same interface, same length, same 2 antennae connections, all good it seems to me.

I think Gateway (now Acer) don't have locks on which cards are allowed to be used, I know some HPs back in the day did, but not now I believe.

Yes, the Atheros AR5B95 is a half-mini PCIe. Thank you for the response!
