According to the website "https://www.acer.com/datasheets/2018/4876/A515-51G/NX.GS3AA.003.html" this model has 4GB onboard and an expandable slot of a maximum of 16GB, however it came from manufactures with 8GB in the slot, and no onboard memory.

I need to expand the memory to work, I bought this model due to the upgrade to ssd and 20GB of memory.

Did the Acer website lie to me?

Please look at the pictures and tell me the truth.

I don't understand what the issue is. You said your laptop came with 8 GB of RAM from the store, and the link you posted also specifies that this model ships with 8 GB RAM with expandable up to 20 GB. Everything is as it should be.

The available slot only accepts 16GB of memory, so it is not possible to have 20GB as specified on the website. The device should come with 4GB onboard memory, as already confirmed by Acer support.
