Hello,

I have an Aspire E5-571 laptop.

I'm currently using the the sole VGA port for a monitor. plus the laptop screen.

I want to add another monitor, and not use the laptop screen.

My question is, "Can I use the HDMI output for the 2nd monitor?

Or, do I need to set-up some other get up to make this happen? (i.e., docking station, some type of an adapter, etc.)

Thanks a million.

You should be able to also HDMI out to a TV with a simple HDMI cable. Press the FN+F5 combo to toggle the screens off and on.Try it. Jack E/NJ

    Thanks for yoe response JackE,

To clarify, you believe that I can use both the VGA out + the HDMI out to run 2 monitors simutaneously?

Yes, they should mirror each other. Go to HomeDepot and pick up a 6' HDMI cable and plug it into a TV. If they don't work simultaneously, then all you need is an inexpensive HDMI or VGA hub with two or more outputs.  Jack E/NJ
