Acer Nitro 5 AN515-43-R0YM Frequently freezing and overheating on games under less than 1 year.

I've been having this problem with my Acer Nitro 5 for months, and it's just now getting to a head after having this PC for 10 months. No matter what game I play anymore, whether it be Terraria or Risk of Rain 2, my Acer Nitro 5 will reach temperatures above 200 degrees Fahrenheit and suffer frequent drops that will freeze up ALL of my Nitro 5's functions.

I have tried the following things to try and fix it:
- Run everything thru AMD Radeon Software/Adrenalin 2020
- Factory reset my PC
- Put my battery and AC at max performance on NitroSense AND advanced battery options
- Cleaning out the fans on the inside
- Keeping my PC plugged in during gaming to keep it at max performance

However, none of these solutions have worked. In fact, I'm probably leaving out a few things I've tried that I've forgotten that I've done. There is no visible damage from the inside of the PC, but Acer Support has suspected that there is an issue with the processors.

I am currently heading up to my relatives in three days, so I cannot send in my PC for repairs just yet while it's under its warranty. Does anyone know ANY possible solutions for this issue? The model is AN515-43-R0YM, and the only real thing I've added to the laptop is an additional memory stick for 16 GB DDR4 RAM. I will be checking back on this post constantly and am open to any discussion to get help with this issue. Please someone help my annoyance.

No, but I definitely am considering possibly reapplying stronger thermal paste. From what I've seen though, it doesn't look dried out in my PC but I will see if it actually is.

How did you check that it is not dried out? And BTW this is 100% overheating 200 F is 110 C so your laptop should shut down at this point and even earlier at 98 C.

I looked around the areas where thermal paste was applied since I was not properly equipped to handle further dismantling my laptop at the time, and it appears that there is still thermal paste usable where it is applied. Im unsure if it's as strong as it should be since it's the thermal paste that was applied in the factory and not by me. Should I apply a stronger thermal paste to fix the overheating?

Yes you can apply Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut or Arctic MX-4. Look at some youtube videos how ro re-paste. Acer Service Center can do this as well but it will reapply the factory paste...

I figured Acer would do as such. I'll look into those thermal pastes and see how to re-apply. I'll see if it fixes the overheating. Is there anything else I should do to keep my PC from CPU spiking, or is overheating just the main issue?

If the ambient T is too high in your room then a cooling pad would be desirable

Thankfully, my room isn't too hot. It's usually below 70 degrees, even during the summer.

Good so a good re-paste will do the job.

Alrighty, will search for some now. I'll update this thread once it appears my PC has shown improvement after re-applying new thermal paste and/or overheating has ceased.
