Can I Overclock my GPU which is RX 560X Series with my device Acer Nitro 5 AN515-43 w/ no upgrades?

Can I Overclock my dedicated GPU which is RX 560X Series with these specs of my device: CPU/APU - Ryzen 5 3550H with Vega 8 Graphics(Integrated)GPU - RX 560X Series 4 GB, Installed RAM - 4 GB?
I dont have experience in overclocking and wanted to try, which do you prefer MSI Afterburner or Global Wattman Settings(AMD Radeon Software)?
My MSI Afterburner version is up to date while my AMD Radeon Software version is outdated which is 20.1.3 and I do not prefer updating my Radeon Settings because the latest version doesnt have the Switchable Graphics tab.

If you prefer overclocking in MSI Afterburner, how to do it?
Also, if you prefer overclocking in Global Wattman Settings(AMD Radeon Settings), how to do it?

You can overclock the GPU, but at the expense of higher temperatures.

In MSI Afterburner, there are some sliders that you can drag (easiest method!). Drag the Core Clock(MHz) slider to your desired clock frequency boost (eg. +100 adds 100 MHz to the base and to the boost clock), and then drag the Memory Clock(MHz) slider to your desired memory clock frequency boost. Thar is all! Please note that you can drag the slider to any value, but that will increase temperatures and make the GPU more power hungry! It won't harm your hardware, but it will increase power consumption. You can experiment with the sliders yourself, try first with +100 at the core and +200 to memory clock. You can choose higher values if you want. But be careful as if you will choose too high memory clock boost your windows may bluescreen and settings to afterburner will be reset (don't worry, it won't harm your computer and you won't bluescreen unless you choose too high settings to memory clock again!) Have fun!

I would rather think for an additional ram before I start overclocking but thats me. Nevermind, yes you can overclock. Good luck!

With only 4gb and 3,44gb usable it makes no sence to overclock it no game will run on whats left(windows consumes 1-1,5gb when just installed) of the ram ~2gb.

He meant to overclock the dedicated GPU not the integrated one, overclocking the dedicated GPU increases the performance a little in GPU hungry games even if you have 4GB ram. I suggest he should try it himself and see if there is any performance increase, since overclocking with MSI Afterburner can not do any harm if you are careful.

I know what he is talking about... did you ever tried ro run GPU hungry games with ~2gb. free ram?

Yes, it increased performance for me. I use a 4GB ram laptop with MX110 for now (lol). I play Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege with +20FPS.
It all depends from user to user, but I mean the topic is if he can. He didn't ask if he will have any significant performance boost. And since OC ing the GPU doesnt void the warranty, I'm suggesting he could try.

I have done it couple days from now and it is very easy and safe. It also does not take that much the risk because when I hit the Core Clock limit the benchmark (Heaven by Unigine) didnt run and everything in Windows freezes and I cant do anything then I press and hold down the power button and restarted it and the Clocks I adjusted in MSI Afterburner automatically reset it to default and thats good.

    My overclocking results:
From default Core Clock 1275 MHz, overclocked to 1425 MHz (+150).
Also with the Memory Clock defaulted by 1750 MHz, overclocked to 1900 MHz (+150).

Yeah, you also got the point from having additional ram instead of using the 4 GB ram, because when I overclocked it and played NBA2K20, I didnt notice that difference from overclocking and it is still having drops in frames when I play that kind of game.

I know this is an old thread, but my acer nitro 5 cant do that using msi afterburner now... Did someone know the reason? Is it because of the windows 10 2oh2 update or the manufacturer has locked the settings? Now everytime i try to applied those, it will revert back to the default one automatically... And about the max processor state in power plan settings, everytime i changed my settings to 99% the speed suddenly capped at 1.6ghz when it shouldnt since ryzen5 3550h based speed is 2.1ghz so it should be around 1.9ghz... Did someone know the solution?
