    Hi @kinghux
Tip: Do it slowly, take clear pictures of your battery, HDD and adapters that show the part numbers, you may want to order a new battery after some time. Before installing your new DDR4, type in an Elevated Command box: winsat mem it tales a minute and you will see something like Memory Performance (Ram):14873.82 MB/s which means that your single bandwidth (Ram) is 14.9 Gb/second (>>twice the speed of your HDD). After installing the DDR4 8 Gb run winsat mem again and let me know what speed you get. To check the size of your DDR4, Ctrl+Shift+ Esc will open Task Manager click the Performance tab and Memory and in the top right you will see your total memory (DDR4).

    Hi kinghux,
Yep, that's the one on Acer's DDR4 tested list for our model that I sent you, and a good price too, it will be interesting to see if that will give you Dual Channel ....
Follow the instructions on U-Tube this forum how to install DDR4 (A515-54) and don't forget to disconnect the battery first (don't touch the contacts of the DDR4).
    Good luck!
Did you made your upgrade yet? how was is?

I havnt received my order up to now.

Success, It tripled my speed and available memory:
With only one DDR4 and with two:

And here are the Task Manager Memory results before and after

It took 15 minutes, 10 minutes for the 11 screws, 4 minutes to wriggle the case loose with a credit card and 2 seconds to insert the DDR4 module. I did not dare to disconnect the battery as it has 8 wires and an awkward looking plug connected to the mbo (not straight, possibly bent). Just slide the DDR4 in the empty slot with a 45 degrees angle, make sure the contacts are fully inserted in the slot connector and push the DDR4 slowly down till you hear and feel a strong click. That's it. Make sure you are not connected to the power supply and keep the lid closed so you cannot touch the Power button by mistake. The most important result is the CPU-Z picture with DUAL (Channel)
    that I circled in red:

The soldered DDR4 is not recognized by CPU-Z, SPD slot # 2 is blank.
Let me know if you get double channel too with your 16GB DDR4.

In my acer a515-54G this comes with LCD display which have very poor viewing angle and colour reproduction, I just wanted to upgrade with IPS panel, Is there any way to find out compatible IPS Display ?

This thread is 2 years old, better start a new thread if you want people yo respond.

To answer you question: It depends where you buy your a515-54G, I live in Asia and that model comes only with TN displays (not IPS) with low, 220 Nits, brightness and poor viewing angles. In Europe and USA our model comes with IPS displays (good viewing angle) but still not very bright. You get what you paid for. There is no option to change from TN to IPS screens, Acer won't even discuss it, better get a Dell XPS 15 with an Oled display (twice the price of our model).
