I try to activate it and it says, "this version of your product is no longer supported."

I just had my Aspire One returned from a service station where they had to reinstall everything...Could they have accidentially reinstall and older version?

They may have installed an older version however, does it really matter?  Since the trial expires in one day anyway, you are faced with purchasing McAfee ( or another anti-virus program) anyway.

To get rid of McAffe scanner you must download an removal tool from Mcaffe site. google will show the way.

When time has expired, McAffe will deactivate it self but not reactive the built in Virusscanner.

You have to reactivate Microsoft essential (built in scanner) on your own.

Nice to left the box unprotected if you don't buy a licence. (If you remove McAffe, the W8 builtin scanner will be activated.)

    I installed the free bitkeeper.
