Hi there, I have the same problem. I also tried the older lan driver version. I recently found the real problem/solution:

I will check now the BIOS and hope to activate my sleeping beauty :D just plugin/out the cable didn't helped when re-installing the driver.

Hi again, in my last postet URL I found beside the BIOS hint another very interesting solution: you just need to turn off your computer and also remove the plug from the socket. After that turn it on (without power) a few times. Of course your computer won't start. This will empty the capacitors on the mainboard. After some time, in my case ~five minutes, I plugged in everything again and started the computer. And now the ***** ethernet controller was working again!!!

I had the same problem just a few days ago. It also appeared after a windows-update.

I really cant tell, how it got fixed. But turning the computer off, unplug it from power and waiting a few minutes, seemed to help. I turned the machine on again and the ethernet controller worked properly.

Still cant tell, what the issue was, but since many users report the same thing, there might be something wrong with the windows update an this specific system.

I believe the issue is with the changes the update can make to the power saving settings on the driver. When the computer goes into a sleep state (very likely the deep sleep) it turns off power to the port in order to save energy. When the computer is awakened, the port doesn't also wake. It instead only wakes when given a full power cycle which requires both loss of AC power to the power supply (by pulling the cord) but draining of stored power in the supply (by pressing the power button while AC is disconnected). It's possible the properties for the Ethernet port has some configuration that leaves it in an up state while the computer is sleeping, either under power options or in wake from LAN settings.
