I haven't tried the 1.29 version that was released on 05-11-2020 but I tried all previous ones and none worked. Acer even tried to update to the latest bios when I sent it to them the first time and it didn't work either. They finally decided to replace the motherboard around the first week of May 2020 and it's working fine now. I think you can only get result by sending it back until it get fixed, even if it takes multiple times.
  • @JWA1979Just one more question: can you enter the version of the bios that appears on the information tab of the bios?

    Hi egydiocoelho,

The bios version that I'm running on my new motherboard is V1.28. My computer running on this version with the new motherboard seems to be working fine now. Hope this helps.

You and I have gotten the SAME ISSUE = https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/comment/868455#Comment_868455
This was my SECOND direct replacement - and like you - I had to plug it in 24/7 and didn't notice there was a fault at times because it was at my workstation. Now it's 8 months old (replacement in November) and getting the fault again. So annoying.

I'm calling Acer NZ for a full replacement and credit towards another laptop. This is ridiculous.

Removing the battery (take out the plug and put back in) resolves the issue (temporarily!) but it does get the battery to charge again.

Thanks for responding. I'm sorry for not having gotten back about this yet but I didn't have the chance to send the laptop in for repair until now. I will be sending it in and asking that it be fixed rather than just replacing the charger, which is not the issue. I will update on whether it works from there. Thank you again.

Hi. I recently received my laptop from the repair center and am writing an update. Despite my best efforts of explaining the issue thoroughly and even leaving a piece of paper explaining it and urging them not to do a temporary repair and to replace the motherboard if necessary, the laptop was not fixed. Again, after sending it in for a month, they did a temporary fix and charged it to 100%. However, soon after that, the laptop is not charging again. At this point I'm pretty much defeated and disappointed. My warranty runs out in a month and now it would be very inconvenient to send the laptop in again. Even if I were to send it for repair again, I would get it back in a month and nothing would have been fixed, seeing as I did everything I could when I sent it in.

The Diagnosis reads as follows: "Plugged in test adapter and battery is charging fine. Reset the battery firmware through the BIOS. Updated the BIOS. Battery Health is good. Passed extended system testing. System is working properly. Battery charged to 100%."

Despite this, the battery has been stuck at 76% for the 10 or more days.
