So recently, I haven't been happy with the speed of my computer.
I was recommended by trusted friends to either buy a M.2 drive or a SATA SSD.

For me it's a bit difficult to find information about what's compatible and what's not.
I was wondering if NVMe is supported or not, what is the max storage is supported on a M.2 drive?

Also, would any of these linked M.2 drives be any good for my situation:

If not, please let me know some supported and compatible M.2 drives.
Thanks.

    Hi,
I would suggest you go for the Samsung 860 Evo M.2 SATA SSD, I have found a user installed a Crucial NVMe SSD but the speeds are very similar to a M.2 SATA SSD(link below).

Also one question, would I be able to set this M.2 drive as my boot drive so I can load windows faster?

You are welcome  :) yes you can use it as the boot drive and it will improve the performance immensely.

    Hi,
Could you please start a new thread with more details about the PC and the SSD part number, thanks.

    Hey just a follow up,
I have just been delivered the M.2 Drive but I couldn’t find any screws to screw the drive into the mobo. The computer didn’t come with extra screws either. Where can I buy these screws then? I seen them on amazon but it’s estimated for them to come in 7-9 days which is longer than I waited for the actual m.2.

    Hi,
You could try any local laptop/PC repair shop, I know it's difficult at the present situation, I couldn't find any size or part number for your PC.

It's a M2-3mm screw, they are pretty standard for the M.2 slots. It's nice to have the big flat head they put on them but not required so you can use the standard M2 head instead.

Would it be alright if I ran the drive without the screw for a few days while waiting for the screws to come in the post? Also is it risky doing this?

I wouldn't run it without the screw unless I had something else physically holding it down. It's going to want to spring up without the screw, and you might zap it if it wasn't making good enough contact.
