RAM ISSUES. Which is better? Having a 20GB of RAM with 2400mhz or 16gb of RAM with 2666mhz?

Hello. I need some of your help. My Acer Nitro 5 AN515-42 is currently equipped with 16gb + 4gb of DDR4 RAM with having 2666mhz of speed. However, it CPU - Z and Task Manager is showing that my RAM is only running at 2400mhz. I have read that this issue is caused by having unmatched CL, is this true? If it is, does it make sense if I will remove my 4gb ram having only left my 16gb ram. Would it go back to having 2666mhz? If so, which is better, having a 20GB of RAM with 2400mhz or 16gb of RAM with 2666mhz?

    Hi,
Could you please post the CL values for both 2400 and 2666 modules, you could do this yourself, divide the frequency by the CL value of the 2400MHz module, then divide 2666 by it's CL value, compare both and choose the module which has a higher value.

I would choose to work with 16gb of ram at 2666mhz and with dual channel enabled, even if the dual channel works in flex mode. Send a screenshot of the ram memory with cpuz.

there wont be any dual channel enable sir, it's because my 16gb ram is only 1 stick

You need to install equal size, same frequency and same CL value modules to utilise a dual-channel mode, so 2666/17=156.82, do this for the other module as well, if it's higher than this number use 20GB, if it's lower than this number, use only 16GB module.
To find out the CL value of 2400MHz module, remove 2666MHz RAM and run CPU-z.
