Hi,
I am using Acer aspire 5 A515-52-315Q.
How can I boot into bootable USB or other installed OS (linux)? It can be easily done by pressing F12 during the startup but the F12 boot menu is disabled by default and I don't know the BIOS password.

Actually, I have installed Parrot Linux and windows side by side and F12 menu was also enabled. I set the BIOS password too but now I forget the password. From different support forum I came to know about resetting the BIOS and I did so.
But everything except the password is reset.
Everything is back to default ( factory reset ) but it is still asking the password.
( even the key which is shown after 3 wrong password input is changed, date and time, F12 boot, Function key behaviour etc all are set to default after resetting ).

So is there any way to reset the bios password...? or at least any way to log into the linux or bootable USB...? the windows starts itself as soon as I press the power button.

    Good Morning Souman !

It is not allowed in the forum to share any method of access, modification or passwords in Bios.
In this case, you must contact Acer in your region and / or country.

Hi MaClane, as you said " you must contact Acer in your region and / or country."
but I didn't found any acer in my region or country.(city: Bharatpur, District:Chitwan, Nepal )
I admit that I am not supposed to know any method of access, modification or passwords in Bios,
but at least how can I access my installed operating system...?
I have a lot of project files in that OS (linux).

In this case, I recommend that you remove the HDD and use a case to access the files from another computer.

I also tried it. I think similar. I can access a menu about Boot settings but it doesn't change it to boot from a CD Rom of Linux. It would be great if there was a way to upgrade or change the discontinued Windows 7 OS so that an older machine can have a new adventure (s).
