Webcam turns on, but no image

Hi, i have a Predator Helios 300 PH317-52, there is no image when opening the camera app, no error message, the camera light comes on. It shows up in device manager, and claims to be working, i've tried reinstalling drivers, no difference.
Anyone have any idea what i can do?

    To allow apps to access the webcam on your computer or laptop running Windows 10, use these steps:

    1. Open Settings.
    2. Click on Privacy.
    3. Click on Camera.
    4. Under the "Camera access for this device" section, click the Change button.
    5. Turn on the Allow access to camera on this device toggle switch.

    6. Turn on the Allow apps to access your camera toggle switch.

    7. Under the "Choose which Microsoft Store apps can access your camera" section, turn on the toggle switch for the apps that you want to allow access. After you complete the steps, the app you want to use should now be able to work with your camera.

    Camera access was already on, same with every app that can possibly need it.

    Hi,
    Try resetting  Camera, go to Apps & Features, click Camera and select Advanced Options, scroll down and click Reset.

    I've tried reformatting the PC with no luck, but now i get "0xA00F4292<PhotoCaptureStartTimeout>" when i try taking a picture. A Google search suggests that if it does not work reinstalling driver it is usually a HW error within the webcam?

    Step 1-4 did nothing. Step 5 i'm having a little trouble with, first i could not locate the app files, a Google search said it is located in "C:/Program files/windowsapps", which i did not have access to at first, but i did get ownership of it after some time. If i search for "camera" i get a lot of files, but not an .exe file i can let through the firewall. What do i do?

    I had the same issue. Here is the solution: Go into Waves MaxxAudio, and click on the Waves Nx tab. Then toggle off the option that says "camera tracking."

    I do not have Waves MaxxAudio, anywhere else i might find this setting?

    Oh nevermind. I misunderstood the initial problem. Have you at any point had image when using camera? Is this a recent issue or has it been this way since you bought the laptop?

    It has been this way since i first tried the camera 7 months after i bought it, i would think so, but i can't say for sure.

    It does not work on skype either, which is added as an exeption.

    If it has always been the case I would contact official Acer support. Hopefully your warranty is still valid. Pretty crazy you did not test out the camera for 7 months after buying it though.

    I never really use it, i tried contacting them, but they would not send a replacement part, and i can't be without my computer for 2+ weeks. Everything points to a HW problem, but i had some hope that someone would know of another solution.

    I had this problem too. Though I don't recommend it, my fix was literally to just hit the camera until it worked, and now it does :)

    That sounds like a bad connection, so maybe i'll pull it apart and check connections.

    I think you have worked it out, it could be an HW problem, either the cable got damaged or faulty camera.

    No help in cleaning connections, so i'm guessing faulty camera. Not sure if i'm gonna change it as i never use it. Should i mark it as solved or should i leave it open until i have a more certain answer?
