can I add a ssd to aspire A515-52-59TN?

the aspire A515-52-59TN already has 128GB of ssd built-in but I need another 512GB or 1TB storage

    I suggest you check this link, to understand the difference between the keys: https://www.kingston.com/br/ssd/system-builder/m2_faq
    However, your model will accept both sata 3 and nvme. The difference is that the ssd models that have only the B key, have the gen3x2 speed, while the models that have the M key, have the gen3x4 speed. However, I think there is no need to worry about that, as your model accepts NVM.

    Yes but has to be M.2 Type 2280 (B&M key edge connector) SSD, like egydiocoelho has stated whcih looks like this:
