Hi. Is there an internal component to substitute the DVD Drive that is currently occupies on my TC-865. I thought I saw on Acer's website that the DVD optical drive can be replaced with a module that comprised of USB connections, but now I can't find it anywhere.

Yeah, search for slimline DVD caddy. I put a 512GB SSD in my last laptop using one. It used the same form factor as the original drive and all I had to do was make sure the SATA and power connections were the same as what my laptop had. Some have the newer small connector, some the older standard wide connector.

The replacements I've seen are usually a caddy that replaces the drive and lets you put a 2.5" HDD or SSD instead. For extra USB connections you typically use a PCI Express x1 slot. What are you needing for expansion?

I'm open to what I can use that space for. I don't perceive using the DVD drive. there is a PCI Express on the motherboard, however it will reserved for a graphics card in the near future. Adding another HDD or SSD sounds ideal, but I DVD drive is a laptop style DVD drive so I'm not sure if there is something out there for a HDD/SSD
