I recently took apart the acer e571p-55tl  to upgrade to ssd and to add memory, adding memory was a bust, tried to use memory dde3  1133 from my dell laptop and wouldnt post, the ssd was successful but no I have no sound from computer speakers at all. The 3.5 mm jack will play sound but even after updating  to the newest drivers, will not work and not even a post or windows sound. I do believe there is a pin missing from jspkr-1  the adapter has 4 but only see 3 pins to connect to, any suggestions on what to do?

Yes, I did, everything was done very carefully and the 3.5 mm jack and bluetooth still work, just not for windows or the post sounds

Without anything plugged into the audio jack, right click on the speaker icon in the tray. Click 'playback devices'. What do you see listed in the box that pops up? If it's a speaker with a red X, try to select it to turn it back on. Jack E/NJ

this is the only thing that may be an issue, the connector is 4 pins but I only  see 3 pins. On another note the memory I tried to use would not work in this laptop but was working on my dell that just died, it is dd3 1133 sodimm, and I know it can take up to 16gb so it should have taken it but i digress moreso concerned with sound

Left click on the speaker icon. Are they set to mute or is volume too low? Jack E/NJ

Yes I know. But what about the speaker icons below the volume indicators? Do they have a small red circle or not? Jack E/NJ
