I picked up a Nitro N-50-600 from Newegg on Wednesday and it has crashed several times a day for the past few days. Especially when I'm playing a game or watching a video. Sometimes the screen goes blank, sometimes it shows red or blue dashes over the screen, sometimes it shows a faint black and white checkerboard pattern. I've already installed every update. Thanks for your time.

ControlPanel's power plan must be set to hi performance, battery near 100% charged and charger plugged in BEFORE starting any heavy gaming loads. Jack E/NJ

It's a desktop, it's always plugged in. And high performance was enabled by default.

Sorry. I'm in laptop mode. :o

Do a factory reset pronto. If that doesn't resolve the issue, immediately arrange for a newegg RMA  for a refund or exchange. ACER warranty repair service will take longer. Jack E/NJ

I wound up contacting Newegg, I'll return the computer for a refund. I also bought some ram to go with it but it hasn't even arrived yet so I'll return that too.

Yup. The computer hadn't even finished reinstalling one update before the screen strated to flicker with short blue dashes.

Update, the screen did it again after the last update was installed, this time with tiny white squares and blue dashes and yellow lines.

    >>>the computer hadn't even finished reinstalling one update>>>

Is SystemProtection turned on in ControlPanel's restore point app?  Because the update can be reversed to see if it's a driver vs a hardware issue. Jack E/NJ
