Hi Acer community!

About a year ago I bought this gaming laptop, but because of lack of time I really got to start playing games on it about a 3 months ago. Here is the laptop specs (I have even upgraded it with 1TB SSD instead of the original HDD):

Intel Core i5 8300H @2.3 GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060
16 GB RAM
1TB SSD

First few games were really smooth (Witcher 3, Assassin's creed Odyssea, Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order) but the problems started when I played Metro Exodus, the FPS drops were really huge and made the experience from the game really underwhelming. But I thought it was maybe the game or whatever, but now Im playing Kingdom Come Deliverance, which is kinda old game already and it started happening also! Maybe even more so. So I started looking around the internet for possible solutions. I updated all my drivers, did all those things you guys were advicing here on the forums, even downloaded the GeForce Experience and let it optimize the game (which made it better fps wise, but it looks really crappy). But still my CPU temperatures are off the charts when playing!! Only thing left for me is to try to undervolt the CPU. Any thoughts?

Thank you and sorry for my bad english :))

FPS dropping because of temperature, when temperature goes 90°c or more at that time cpu/gpu clock speed decreases to protect your system component.your temperature goes 97°C and 96°C harmful for your system.

Try to cleaning air vents, fans and heat sink, if if cleaning these components not work then your need to apply new thermal paste.

Well your are out of warranty so, do you know how to open open your laptop body ? Or you have any knowledge about this?

oh well, I sure will try to do the cleaning by some non-invasive methods...becease i still DO have the warranty, its 2years here in czech rep., do you think i should try to make a warranty claim? What about the undervolting? Could it help? Thank you

I don't recommend undervolt because your both GPU and CPU are overheating till 97°C.
    Undervolting will not help.

You are under warranty, visit nearest service centre they clean your laptop and apply new thermal.First get in touch with acer costumer care in your region log you case for that Click on link
