    Hi,

    The W510 has a program called Acer Recovery Management. If you go to start then swipe the charm bar and press on search. Type Acer Recovey Management and open. From here you are able to creae recovery CD's or make a bootable usb device to help reset device to factory settings. You are able to Restore Factory Settings directly without the need of cd from here.

    Hope this helps.

    Have you tried using the Acer Recovery Management program to restore to default settings?

    Thank you Chris.

    I searched the Acer Recovery Management but no such program installed on my tablet.

    I think the 64gb version installs that program by default. But for 32gb.... no....

    Hi Jeffreydo,

    I apologise you are correct. I have the 64g version.

    I would contact technical support for your region and advise.

    Does anyone have the solution. I think acer's recovery Dvd is not a real recovery DVD........

    Hi I also have a 32 gb tablet and was able to reset.  To get to the Acer recovery program, you will need to attach a keyboard (I used a usb keyboard connecting through the supplied usb -> micro usb converter cable).  Then while holding the shift button down on the keyboard, press the restart button on the tablet.

    This will bring up a different menu.  Choose troubleshoot menu (the middle one) and there is a rest button there.

    It will still ask for all three restoratin disks that came with the tablet;  at this time disconnect the keyboard and attach a usb cdrom (optical) drive.  Follow instructions on screen.

    It is a pain to go through this process.

    Good to hear you made it work. On mine holding the shift key down just does a normal boot. All three disks will fit on a single 4GB flash drive.

    dkotagi,

    Mine worked follwing that procedure right up until after it booted from the system disk and prompted for the first recovery disk.  Then it said the media was invalid.   No luck for me.

    Are you sure the Acer W510 has an application called "Acer Recovery Management"?

    Or, could it be that ONLY the Acer W510 with 64GB has the application!

    I have an Acer W510 with 32GB and I tried what you say in your post and my search yields

    "No apps match your search."!

    What do you think?

    dkotagi;

    I'm very interested in this notion of "Rest/Reinstall" on the 32GB Acer W510.

    I hope you can forgive what may appear to be an undue emphasis on precision in the use of terms but I found over the years it helps greatly to be precise.

    You say you attached a keyboard via the usb port but you didn't say which keyboard -- was it the Acer keyboard or another manufacturers keyboard?

    You also say to "press the restart button ..." -- I don't know of any button named "restart" on the tablet!

    Did you mean the "Power" button on the top right edge of the tablet?

    Also, you say "at this time disconnect the keyboard ...". Exactly when would I disconnect the keyboard?

    Also, you say to "attach a usb cdrom ..."! Do you really mean 'cdrom' or do you mean a usb DVD reader?

    Thanks for your patience and insight;

    Ray
