Hi there!
I have 3GB RAM issue on my Aspire 5735 (Bios 1.07). As mentioned in this forum it should be updated to 1.10.
FTP link requires authentication (anonymous - doesn't work)
Can anybody recommend alternative download link or share guest credentials for FTP, please?
Thanks in advance.

What problem are you trying to fix by changing the BIOS from version 1.07? Jack E/NJ

You don't need to change the BIOS for 4GB maximum. Your machine is dual channel capable. So It requires a matched pair of DDR2 of 667MHz or higher frequency 2GB modules for 4GB maximum RAM. https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/acer/aspire-5735Jack E/NJ

I suppose, I found the solution of 3G RAM issue! This a BIOS - just update it using bios downloaded from official support site!It works in my case!I had 3GB RAM limitation on my Aspire 5735 (Bios 1.07), only 3 GB were accessible from installed 4 GB (2 x 2GB).
If you lazy go here: https://www.acer.com/ac/en/ID/content/support-product/556?b=1Download BIOS (it is V.1.08), unpack and run the utility.
It is relay simple! Now I can install something better then died Win XP!

Please read my comment - I installed 2x2G DDRII RAM modules (identical), and BIOS sees only 3GB from 4 GB. As was mentioned before on this forum (the same on several other internet resources) this issue can be fixed by upgrading BIOS to V 1.10.
Please assist.

Does it work? Or doesn't it work? How are you determining the BIOS only sees 3GB? If you're using msinfo32, about 3GB is what you should see as available out of the total 4GB installed. The rest is being used by the operating system to boot your machine. Jack E/NJ

I installed 2 DDRII-666 x 2 GB. Before update both: BIOS (on POST screen) and OS (Windows7 in my computer properties) showed 3 GB. After updating to official 8-th version - BIOS shows 4GB (on POST screen), OS shows 4 GB, but available only 3 GB.
Memtest86 correctly shows both DRRs in slots, but available for test only 3 GB (((.
So, I suppose, (and it was said in the beginning) BIOS should be updated to 10th version...
Unfortunately official FTP for now requires authentication ((((
Can you please assist?

Unfortunately, it is ok only on BIOS POST screen ((((, neither Windows7 nor Memtest86 can't reach more then 3GB...
I suppose it is necessary to find 10th version of the BIOS (1.10)

Run 'msinfo32.exe'. In the right pane, you should see 4GB physical memory of which about 3GB should be available. The other 1GB is used by Win7 operating system. Jack E/NJ
