I have an Acer nitro 5 with an i5 8300h and GTX 1050 with 4gb of DDR4. While playing GTA V I get 60 fps but it stutters every 15 seconds or less. In call of duty modern warfare (mostly warzone that has a problem) it will run at 60 fps then drop to 5-15 for 5 or so seconds then back to 60 and repeat

8 GB of RAM is barely sufficient since windows itself pulls over 3-4 for itself. Bump it up to 16.

Do clean uninstall and install your gpu Driver(nvidia software)

Download DDU(display driver uninstaller)and download latest nvidia software for Gtx1050 from nvidia driver site

Now boot in safe mode then run ddu program select GPU→clean and restart
After restart you will boot in normal mode now, first turn off your internet connection and go to (settings then turn off real time protection if you installed any 3rd party antivirus then disable it )

Now run and install nvidia software
    (Restart your laptop after installation)

    1. Press Windows logo key  + I on your keyboard to open Settings. If that doesn't work, select the Start  button, then select Settings .
    2. Select Update & Security  > Recovery .
    3. Under Advanced startup, select Restart now.
    4. After your PC restarts to the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.

Choose an option screen in the Windows Recovery Environment

Troubleshoot screen in the Windows Recovery Environment

Advanced options screen in the Windows Recovery Environment

Startup Settings screen in the Windows Recovery Environment

    5. After your PC restarts, you'll see a list of options. Press F4 or F5 to boot in safe mode

Click on window icon search CMD and open it as administrator then copy and paste this Command

    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

After completing above command type this command

    sfc /scannow

Now, restart your laptop  when both commands completed successfully

I took the 4gb stick out of my old laptop and put it into my new one. GTA no longer stutters just with 12gb,definitly will be upgrading to 16 soon, thank you

One more suggestion, based on your taskmanager screenshot above, looks like your have only drive - C. And mostly likely this is not an SSD. Put in an SSD, even like 120GB and install windows to it. If you can get a bigger SSD, split it into 80 GB for windows and rest for games. This will push games performance up significantly.
