I would like to use my apple wired earpods with built-in mic (those with the 3.5 mm jack) for some videocalls on my Acer Swift 3 (SF314-52). The problem is that when i plug them in the pc, audio is played just fine, but the built in mic is not detected and the standard integrated mics are used, with obvious loss of quality. I also tried samsung's earphones but the results were the same. The fact is that when i plug both two into my phone the mic is fully detected, i cannot understand why this does not happen on my pc.

I just solved by myself. I leave here my procedure for others (sorry if some words are different but i have set win 10 in italian): go to control panel>hw and sounds>hd audio menagement. Plug in your headphones and right click on the "analogic" button in the right column (see attachment). From there you can set your headphones as "headphones with microphone", and that's it!
