Aspire R - R5-571TG-7229 Audio Problem

I recently have had audio problems - it's definitely too soft. I measured the decibels, and they're reading anywhere from 30 (a whisper) to 45 (a quiet library to 65 (conversation.)
I have run the troubleshooter to no avail. I have also uninstalled drivers and rebooted. The master system is all the way up, and also every time I watch a video, that particular interface's audio is at 100% as well.
Can anyone help? Thanks in advance. This laptop is going to be used in law school...or is it? If I can't resolve the issue, I'll be buying a new one. Many thanks!

Thank you so much GAMING6698! Worked like a charm; sound at 100% now reads between 65 and 85 db. Many thanks.1

Well, I'm back - I'm beginning to think this may be a hardware/sound card issue? Back to a whisper at full volume across multiple platforms. Thanks in advance.0

So, what I did was to restore back to 4/24/2020. That fixed the audio problem - most definitely. I have all the sound I want or need now. I thought I was losing my mind. But now Chrome won't launch - from any shortcut, taskbar, or menu. Help.Oh, and I reinstalled the 2020-02 and 04 Windows updates. Sound is still cherry. Still no Chrome. Thanks.0

Yes, thank you Gaming.
I just want to pause and say thank you for what you do. You obviously put way more into this than some folks know.
Haven't tried reinstalling Chrome because I read something that said it might not be possible or something - and then gave four options to repair it. I tried restarting to no avail.
Do you have a tutorial, or would I just Google it?0 -

After the updates and a couple restarts - and letting it sit overnight - Chrome now works
Thank you for everything!
