Hi, I recently bought Acer Nitro AN515-54 mainly for gaming purposes. My specs are roughly as follows: i7/GeForce 1660Ti/32GB RAM/Windows 10 (updated of course)/SSD 512GB.
I am struggling for couple of days now trying any solution I can find on your forum + anywhere else on the internet. I tried everything from this post https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/comment/771467/ and on top of that I updated my BIOS to newest version available for my model. I'm having same problem with my GPU being idle even after switching it from Dedicated GPU in NVIDIA Settings. This is a picture of NitroSense when alt-tabed from game called Terraria (which should be running easily on 120 fps with this specs and I'm getting 20-40 fps while in game).

I feel like I exhausted all my options and getting ready to return it after this weekend. Feel like it must be hardware related problem.
I appreciate all the help I can get and hope you all staying safe.

First download nvidia latest software and download DDU(display driver uninstaller)
After downloading move nvidia software and ddu program in desktop.
Now, boot in safe mode then run ddu program
Select gpu→clean and restart
After, restart you will boot in normal mode now turn off your internet connection and disable your antivirus if you installed any if not then go to settings→turn off real time protection
Now install nvidia software and restart your laptopwindows 10/11 optimization guide for gaming

In INVIDIA Settings it's set to run on Dedicated GPU (picture below)
To answer your question - yes I tested it on Red Dead Redemption 2 where even in Main Menu of the game I get 5-15 FPS at most. It's set to use Dedicated GPU as well. Thanks for the reply, all best to you.0 -

Here buddy https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/27475291. It's seems ok, but even tho I ticked to test my GPU on the benchmark settings it doesn't show which (correct me if I'm wrong) must mean that something is not right. Again thanks for quick reply, all the best to you.0 -

@El_Profesor
1)Which version of nvidia control panel are you running?
2)right click on nvidia driver in device manager then select properties and check if device is working or there may be any error.

@El_Profesor
Open control panel then uninstall current nvidia control panel then restart your laptop (screen may flash while uninstalling so don't worry)
After restart, Download and install brand new nvidia software from my link.just click on my link then in browser page click on download

I did exactly that and nothing changed. I don't understand why I did that when after reinstalling the version of NVIDIA Control Panel remained the same. Clearly the hardware is not working as intended. I think I will return the laptop on Monday and ask for refund. Sorry to say it but you saying ,,Restart and play your games" is a very bold statement seeing that completely nothing has changed. I appreciate the effort but I don't think you are able to help me in any way. I think I am wasting both your and my time. Acer is clearly not the gaming laptop that I require. Thanks and take care.0 -
