Acer Switch Alpha 12 i7. Keyboard disconnects when folding the keyboard for working.

Hi.

Im using my Acer Switch Aplha 12 i7 since April 2018. No issues ever and love working on it. Since yesterday though, My keyboard keeps getting disconnected ad goes into tablet mode when I slightly fold the keyboard at the hinges for better typing support. I usually always fold it and type and have never had any issues earlier.

I have cleaned the magnet area and the joints with a cotton swab, but still the same problem. Please help in case of any solution or advise.

Till then I am using my keyboard in the flat position.

    The only thing I can think of that would cause this you have likely already addressed, the magnets might not be holding it tightly enough and the flex caused by bending that hinge area is causing it to pull loose. Double and triple check that the magnets are snapping into place forcefully and there's no bowing that would cause one end to be pried out.

    Thanks for your reply. A quick update! Now it doesn't work at all!! 

    The magnets seem fine. Cleaned the hinges with cotton swab and rubbing alcohol. 

    Taken it out and reconnected it many times.

    The problem seems to be at the folds. I've attached a photo of the same. I also checked drivers etc and the system is saying it's upto date. Don't want to meddle with that 

    I'm using this laptop for 2 years now. My aunt got it for me as a gift from US to India. I'm not very sure whether this can be repaired here.  

    Would be grateful for any help. Laptop runs perfectly otherwise.

    If the embedded connections between the contacts and the keyboard itself have broken, and that is what it sounds like to me, then the only solution is to replace the keyboard. :( For temporary use while waiting for a keyboard you can use the onscreen or an external USB keyboard.

    I have had trouble with my keyboard since the start and after doing lots of research it seems to be a common issue. Where did you find a replacement?

    Not yet found any replacement. Nothing available anywhere because of lockdown. For the time being I'm using teamviewer and sharing the device with an old desktop that I have. I'll update this post once I get alternative.

    Btw, since you are having problems with your keyboard since beginning, how do you manage?
