Hi All,   I have just purchased a B277 bmiprzx 27" monitor and cannot get the sound to work.
Here's the setup:
Windows 7
NVidia Quadro FX 570 DVI connections on back of video card.
DVI>HDMI Adapter
HDMI to HDMI on monitor.
I've also attach 3.5 mm audio cable from back of computer to monitor.
The speakers on monitor work when I connect my laptop direct to the monitor (So speakers on monitor indeed work)
I've updated drivers (Video), BIOS, Audio drivers and still cannot get this to work even using the Microsoft "Find and Fix Audio Playback Problems"
Is there any way to get the sound to work?

The Acer B277 monitor has speaker so sound should coming out of it, but you need to use an HDMI cable to get the sound output. So first check on it. Also check the sound driver are up to date or not

I have a dvi port on my video card with a dvi>hdmi adapter,  then an hdmi to hdmi from adapter to monitor.
I also connected the 3.5mm audio cable from the computer to the monitor.
The question I have is how to I make the 3.5mm audio cable deliver sound to the monitor?  When I look at the sound levels during a test, the level are moving so I know sound is being sent but the monitor does not play the sound.

Yeah, DVI won't pass sound on through the HDMI adapter, so you have to go the green wire route. Check your user manual to make sure there isn't both an audio in and audio out on the monitor, and make sure you're connecting to the right one. :)

Thanks for the reply,   I checked this but it's connected to the correct one.   I hooked up another computer to this monitor for a test and the speakers do work.
It must be something with the dvi+hdmi adapter + 3.5mm audio cable together.
Does anyone have a out there have a monitor with built in speakers with:
    • Windows 7
    • dvi video card+hdmi adapter
    • 3.5mm Audio cable?
I'm hoping there is a solution out there,  I really don't want to buy a new video card or separate speakers just to get the sound to work.   Thank you.
