Anyone have any idea how to stop battery from charging whenever i plug-in to AC power. This model, the battery is fixed, cannot remove. I seldom bring my notebook out, most of the time, used AC power. Battery life will be shorten, on every charge. Please advise

    Hi,
Yes, this happened to me as well, I would suggest you not to switch off the mains when you shutdown the laptop.

The battery charging circuit monitors battery charge level and stops pulling electricity when the charge is full. There's a very small trickle of power from the charger at that point, not enough to worry about. You can verify this with a device like the kill-a-watt that allows you to see the actual usage.

Alright. Thanks for sharing the knowledge. Still, is there any other ways to prolong the battery life?

Leave it on the charger most the time and periodically run it through a full charge/discharge cycle. That is essentially what the battery wants to see happen, so it gives you the best overall battery health.

    How to perform charge/discharge cycle?

Simple enough, start it up, disconnect the power and use it until it shuts off due to low battery. Plug it in, wait for it to charge fully, then turn it back on. :)

Thanks  Plug it in, to the AC power , when the battery is totally flat. Can I use the notebook at this time, when it is charging to full charge?

Better if you can let it charge fully before using it, so it'll have better info on charge and discharge rates.
