    1)enable F12 BOOT
2)disable SECURE BOOT (if this option is gray out then 1st set supervisor password)
3)in boot tab change bios mode from UEFI TO LEGACY

now safe and exit bios.turn off your system then
Turn on your system boot in usb through F12

    Hello @shawie60

It's not necessary to disable secure boot to check the memory.  Here's some different ways to run the memory diagnostic tool.  If you really want to disable secure boot (I don't recommend) then you must first create a supervisor password in the BIOS settings.  I don't recommend using legacy mode.

    https://www.intowindows.com/3-ways-to-run-memory-diagnostics-tool-in-windows-10/

    Here's a video.

Here's how to use Alt+F10 to get to the tools.

    Edit:

Some people use the Microsoft Media Creation Tool to create the USB drive.
Other people use the Microsoft Media Creation Tool to download the ISO and use rufus to create the USB drive----with rufus settings:
      GPT, UEFI (non CSM) FAT32

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

    https://rufus.ie/

I like to use a USB drive like this one to create Windows 10 USB.

Thanks its mainly the set supervisor password I didn't know. Not sure why this has to be but i'll give it a try, first time Ive come across it tbh ..
as regards memory, I used windows memory diagnostic and it said everything was ok. Then I tested with memtest and it said otherwise.
So I wanted to run a test outside of windows environment.
thanks, I'll let you know how I go on.

    •  the reason for all this is Im looking at a Acer swift 3 laptop (8Gb, AMD Ryzen 7 2700U with Vega mobile GFX - that bluescreens occasionally and at random times.
I updated video drivers because it was listed in bluescreen view and there was a problem with them.
Ive run sfc - all ok. run DISM - all good, checked memory (windows mem diagnostic), hard drive for errors - no problems. Seemed to run for a while after that, then a random bluescreen, the last one related to the GFX problem again. Since then Ive disabled 'fast startup' updated the drivers again to a later version. Ran CPU stress tests (Intelburn ) on standard, High, and super high which all passed. I ran Furmark to test the gxf and that ran without problems.
Finished up backing up and re install, (its a refurbished machine I'm told, and had windows 8.1 previously).
the bluescreens codes are as follows .. 0x000000ef,  0x00000139, 0x0000003b, 0x000000d1, 0x000001e .  Apart from the gfx drivers there doesn't seem to be an apparent link to me, but I may have missed it.  it seems the problem lies with an amd driver atikmdag.sys. This seems to be a common problem but as yet nobodys solved it properly.
Some people say the older drivers work ok, others a clean install, which Ive tried.
any idea's or feedback would be appreciated ..

I would make sure I had the latest BIOS.  I'm not sure if you have the 1.xx or the 2.xx BIOS version.  There is risk involved if you attempt to update BIOS when the computer is unstable.  So maybe order recovery media first.  BIOS update second.

And then I would order my original Acer OEM factory recovery media from Acer if the BIOS update didn't fix it.

You can spend/waste a lot of hours trying to figure out driver issues.  I would go with the fresh start.

he's already updated the bios (version 2.1 I think) and ive reinstalled (as mentioned above) a clean version of windows 10, so I don't see where a copy of the original install would help tbh .. but thanks for the input.

I didn't have any problem creating a bootable memtest USB with rufus and running it on my computer.  Not sure anything I suggest would help tbh, but thanks for asking.  Good luck there.

from what ive read, if I create a boot option then I should be able to get it to boot from DVD / USB. Ive created a cd disk which works fine on other machines but not on this one, the problem is I dont know what file to load etc. its basically loading a Linux command line boot and running from there.
If I reset the boot manager options what are the defaults?  I dont want to lose access to windows install.
strage thing is when the options are enabled/disabled as regards secure boot i cant change it from UFEI to legacy ..

Many of the newer systems no longer support Legacy boot, supposedly within the next couple of years none of the new systems will. Just put your memtest into a UEFI boot environment and you should be good to go with the Secure Boot disabled.

hi guys right ive determined the problem is with memory, but on this its onboard, does anyone know where it might be replaced (long shot I know) or a new board?  reluctant to try ebay, been burned before

There are 12 different motherboards for the SF315-41G, with different CPUs, SSD types and memory. Which is yours? 4/8GB, SATA/NVMe, R3/R5/R7?
