Is the NB.M6V11.006 motherboard compatible in the V5-571P?

I would like to upgrade the CPU and Graphics in my 571P.  The motherboard from a 571PG looks like it should work.  Is this compatible?  If I understand correctly I may have to re-install an operating system.  I am more worried about the component compatibility than software unless software would be unusable.

These are the early specsheet mainboard part numbers listed for both the integrated and discrete graphics models. I would expect those with the later i5 and i7 to be similar and should work. The only possible fly in the ointment will be the operating system if you decide to go with Win10 since the OEM license is tied to the SNID on the old board. I would expect that Microsoft can accomodate a new mainboard. Jack E/NJ

Thanks for the quick reply! I did take advantage of the Win10 update.  Do you think it would revert back to Win8?

No. Should stay Win10 if it's tied to your email or Microsoft account. Why? Would you like to have Win8x back? Because some folks would've put it a bit differently and said they took disadvantage of the Win10 update and want Win8x back.  :) Jack E/NJ

I would prefer to keep Win10. I will keep an eye out for a good deal on a mainboard, preferably i7. I am maxed at 8gb ram currently, would the either of the mainboards be able to handle 16gb Ram?

Yes, the PGs are 16GB max and dual-channel capable with a matched pair of 8GB modules. Jack E/N
