I bought a recertified helios 300 awhile back and lately it's been driving me crazy because it just randomly restarts itself with no warning or any reason. My temps are never an issue as it's usually at 50-60 while playing games but this issue has happened even when not playing games such as browsing the internet or writing with google docs. I've seen many people have issues with their helios shutting off completely and having issues turning on but my laptop is doing the exact opposite. It will randomly just freeze up with no warning and cut all sounds playing and freeze for a few seconds before shutting off then rebooting itself with the logo screen on a normal restart/power on. When it freezes sometime it will simply freeze in place with whatever was going on in the screen, or sometime it will turn completely off, or in rare cases the screen goes black with a few lines around, I've tried most methods online such as throttling, using the turbo mode for games or whenever, nothing has stopped this. I've never taken it apart to repaste or change anything to the system that may have caused anything to come loose as well. I tried the solution proposed in this thread https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/582205/my-helios-300-2019-restart-by-itself and it seemed to have worked for 3 days and then it just started restarting on its own again twice today within 15~ minutes of the crashes. Has anyone had issues with their Helios 300 simply restarting on its own? There seems to be no pattern to this, Sometime it happens twice a day, I've gone a month and a half without this happening which was the longest and I thought it was gone but lately it's been happening a lot more. The Product name is Predator PH315-52

Did you perhaps get your laptop from the ebay recertified store?

Firstly, if its under warranty then send it or take it back to your retailer and/or an Acer Service Centre!

If its not, always start with the basics. Seeing that you haven't opened and/or looked at any hardware issues, I would open the Predator PH315-52 and check condition/connections of the CPU/GPU pasting, fans, RAM, HDD or M.2 if they are plugged in correctly and anything that might or might not be irregular. If all the hardware has no problems then diagnose the software. Have you got the latest BIOS (v1.08 2020/03/10)? Completely refresh your drivers (from the Acer site) e.g. chipset, audio, uninstall IRST if its installed, touchpad driver etc uninstall and update your graphics driver and get latest driver from NVIDIA, if that doesn't work, do a complete fresh install of Win-10 (make sure you backup all your personal files) and try that. You have to go right through the whole Predator PH315-52 and use a process of elimination.

I'm glad this thread is getting attention since I could not find what was causing this issue. I have not taken it apart yet since the issue has not happened in over a month..

While I can't speak spanish, using translate tells me you tried uninstalling the predator sense? It is really weird however since I did try uninstalling predator sense, the same crash happened a few hours later, I then reinstalled predator sense and I cannot remember if it was then that I stopped getting the crashes.

It looks like I'm gonna have to take this apart when I get the chance since I thought it was a bug with the pre installed predator sense but after not having this annoying random crash happen for 2 months, it happened again today and once again a later in the day after the original crash... Really wish this was not happening right now...
