I began having issues with my laptop of the above model. At first, the dedicated GPU (Nvidia 940MX) would crash the system and BSOD, particularly on driver install, so I disabled it from Device Manager.

At the same time, I noticed that the laptop began heating up significantly (particularly along the heatsink) and battery life significantly went down. Also, I noticed that it seems that the laptop would wake up itself from sleep, even with a closed lid. A number of times, I've left the laptop sleeping and come back to find out the battery was drained.

I kept using it until the screen wouldn't come on, similar to this issue:   https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/548744/black-screen-on-booting-acer-aspire-e15-e5-575g-51w. At one time, it happened when the laptop slept.

Right now, the screen comes on randomly. I've tried using the HDMI port when the screen is black, no joy. Resetting the battery (pin through the casing to the button underneath) doesn't seem to have worked either.

I'd appreciate any help that would get it working again. Thanks in advance

I forgot to mention: initially, the Nvidia GPI was visible in Device Manager (as an unknown 3D Video thingamajig), but now it's not
