Acer Swift Laptop  Hardly used.
No bootable device showed up. Youtubed the solution.  Cant change UEFI to Legacy... Seems to be common problem.
How do I fix this?

@Someone2020 did you recently drop or hit your laptop?

@Someone2020 If your laptop is running Windows 10, you don't want to change it to Legacy mode. You would only need to do that for installing an old operating system such as Windows 7 or outdated versions of Linux. No bootable device can typically be traced elsewhere and that is what we're going to need to do. Is your Swift still in warranty? If so it might be easiest to just let Acer support fix it for you. If you need access to the laptop immediately or are out of warranty we'll work toward diagnosing the issue in more detail.

    1) Thanks @Gaming6698 ...No the laptop has not been dropped. It sits on a desk and has never been transported anywhere.
    2)  Thankyou @billsey and no the laptop is no longer under warranty as it is about 18 months old.  but yes I would like access to it.

OK, what's the failure mode or error message when you try to boot? If you have made any changes to the BIOS in trying to get Legacy mode, please reverse them.

@billsey  just the no bootable device.  I youtubed this and there seemed to be lots of content relating to this. In "Main"  I changed  f12 boot menu to => enabled    but I'll turn in back to =>disabled now    and I set a supervisor password. that is all

OK, you should probably remove the supervisor password as well, though those are both usually innocuous. Do you have access to another computer so we can create a Windows install flash drive? There are lots of utilities in the install drive that we can use to diagnose the problem. Do you remember what size drive it came with?

OK, not really a problem. You can create the Windows install flash drive on a Mac, IIRC there are even YouTube guides to step you through that. You just need a flash drive than is 16GB or more and one you don't mind erasing for now.

If you have run Etcher on the Mac and used it to create the Windows installer you will plug the installed flash drive into your Swift and press F12 a bunch of times between when you turn the laptop on and when it errors out. F12 should give you a boot menu that allows you to select the USB drive as the boot source. If F12 doesn't give you that menu then it's possible that it is disabled in the BIOS. Then you would use F2 instead and in the BIOS turn the boot menu on and disable Secure Boot. Those should give you the ability to use F12 and boot from the USB. Ignore the F8 post, that hasn't worked since Windows 7. :)
