GPU Fan Clicking - Acer Predator Helios 300

I have an Acer Predator Helios 300 and I love it.

However very suddenly the GPU fan has started to click when it's at lower RPMs.

If I speed it up the fan becomes noisy as the way it usually would but the clicking seems to vanish (and I'm pretty sure it is vanishing and not just masked by the normal noise of the fans. Then i slow it down and the normal noise quietens down and the annoying clicking comes back.

Its a very fast click, like a soft but persistent whirring and it seems to have started suddenly and with no warning.

I never take my laptop anywhere, it's never moved or knocked. It just literally started with no warning and to be honest its so bloody annoying.

Should I be very worried?

    I should comment that I can go into Predator Sense and set the GPU fan speed to 3360 and this is the quietest the fan can be without it clicking. Anything below this ad the clicking starts up.

    Mine just started doing the same thing. When the fan is at low RPM (left side of laptop) I hear a faint but rapid click. I can't hear it when I increase the speed.

    @JayHurst1984 in low fans speed everyone can hear small clicking noise.when you speed up your fans, then there is no clicking noise.

    Take real life example when fan rotate slow it make some if we speed its didn't make any clicking, buzzing noise

    Why would it only becoming from the GPU side of the laptop then? The left side is 'clicking' and the right is perfectly smooth.

    @craig123123123123 nice question really
    Most of time gpu is cooler then CPU.CPU temperature may be higher then gpu.so, gpu fans spin slower then CPU fans

    Interesting, so this rapid clicking at low fan speeds is normal. Its very faint and I only hear it when I put my ear close to the left side.
    For example, my other laptop (lenovo thinkpad) runs completely silent, yet my predator 300 always makes this clicking noise.

    I am under warranty so I am contemplating sending it, but don't feel like wasting a few weeks if this is just a normal functionality.

    Well it is not normall at all. I did not have that issue until couple days ago I noticed it. It is a low clicky sound from my gpu1 fan. I thought it just might have to be that way cuz it wears up or something (10months old triton 500 ..). Today I noticed that if I force max fans and pick my laptop up the fan that clicked sounds like a jet engine. It drops it's rpms by 2k and slowly goes up again. That is super weird. Unfortunately I cannot drop my laptop for warranty service atm cuz of quarantine. Any tips guys?

    I sent my laptop into Acer Repair. They replaced my GPU FAN. If you're still under warranty I would do the same (Side note: they don't insure the shipping so if you want a local store to replace the fan((if thats the issue) consider that.

    My fan is no longer clicking post repair.
