Got excited other day thought I had figured out how to get more out of this pc I've had for around five years. But was told mini1 pci is only for wireless. Just retired now and have more time on it and want faster, sata0 is only 3gb and sata1 is worse 1.5gb. Don't understand why manufactures to this. Have a HP and does the same thing, only I have four pci slots in it and a new pci card coming weds next week

What Acer motherboard will fit in this case as it's in great shape?

Will any itx motherboard fit?   I know I have to keep within the limits of it's power supply. Plan on if I can do this get cpu that runs 65w    Don't really plan and adding anymore than I have now really make it better will replace hdd with ssd and put smaller 2.5 hdd in for everything outside of operation system. Have my eye on a nice MSI itx motherboard

    Good answer.
This  morning I committed to finding out. I have a tower case in a box and was going to use it as a way out if the motherboard, cpu and ram just ordered didn't work out. Weds next week is the big day. Attached is what I'm using bought a MSI H110i Pro board form factor Mini Itx. Has 1 x PCIe 3.0 x16  but I can't think of anything I will have to add in it.

Bottom of the list processor compatible Celeron Skylake G3900 2.9Ghz. Then the top of the line for this board is Core i7 Kabylake 7700T 2.9Ghz. This system comes setup for over clocking, however I'm not into that or game play. Has two, M.2 Slots. Then I also grabbed 16Gb of DDR4 2133.

The only thing to check out now is the Power Supply wiring. Oh yeah look at the top of the attached pic  these parts I'm going to be using is only 92w. I only have one hard drive and a DVD to add on top of that.

    Thanks for you input.
Maybe others might find this as I have seen several asking about swaps for gaming. I it works out I will post UserBenchmark report

The spec says microATX for the board form factor, you should be able to plug most any of those in. Many have at least one slot, though sometimes dedicated for a GPU card.

Update !     AXC-603G  Power Supply 24 pin connecter tested out to match the standard pin out voltages for ATX motherboards.  Post this as I couldn't find it in my searches here
