    On your Acer ASPIRE E5-473G-55L5 you have 2x slots (2 banks of 1) with standard memory of 8GB removable, you can fit 2x 8GB removable so, you can have 2x 8GB DDR3L-1866 SODIMM - DDR3 PC3-14900 • CL=13 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR3-1866 • 1.35V • 1024Meg x 64 • for a total of 16GB

I’ve done this to a V3-571G that I have which has a recommended max of DDR3-1600 DDR3 PC3-12800 and fitted 2x 4GB DDR3L-1866 SODIMM DDR3-14900 and it works perfectly and without any problems, giving me a frequency of 889MHz per bank 13.0, 12,12,31,42 at 1.35V (GPUz figures) and Task Manager memory speed at 1867MHz. So going to 2x DDR3L-1866 SODIMM PC3-14900 would be no problem for you.

So technically it will work? I just want some clarification because on desktop computers some RAM won't work even if the RAM meets the motherboard requirement for RAM type, frequency/speed, maximum possible size, voltage, etc. Unless it was in the QVL of the RAM manufacturer.

    It won't exactly work ...
Realize that there are several factors that can influence support of the processor, version of controllers and chipset and revision of the motherboard.
So it cannot be said that RAMs outside the base parameter will be recognized.
The base of this series is DDR3L 1333/1600.
I recommend and suggest that you do not risk going out of the standard.
