Hello, i bought an Acer Predator Helios 300 and somehow it has thermal issue ( i realized when im getting silly temperatures ), and i'm actually relieved that im not the only one who has this problem, so how do i undervolt / underclock that gives me best performance without damaging any of my parts? ( and no warranty void ).

thanks!

80 to 83 isn't silly either, on the Predator Forum we consider anything below 90 to be within range and mid 80's to be ideal. The chart below shows the temperature range and characteristics of the Helios 300. Note Thermal Throttling starts at 98c and shuts off at 90c indicating temperatures below 90c are acceptable and safe and the fans when auto is selected are still not on maximum. Opinions are one thing but facts are another. So with temps 85c or below you can game with confidence and stop worrying about a problem that you don't have and remember this is a gaming laptop and gaming laptops run hot. If you want to bring your temps down further then repaste with Grizzly Kryonaut, Acer don't do a good stock pasting job

Undervolt using one of the custom Throttlestop packages designed by one of our dedicated gamers. They are well tested and very easy to use, click the link below

No it won't, this is a known and accepted solution, undervolting causes no harm to your laptop. Notice Acer have allowed this to be a Sticky Topic

80c is perfect for gaming on your model. Target temperature is around 85c and incidentally Undervolting does NOT damage your laptop, Overvolting/Overclocking, damages laptops. Stop worrying you now have good temps relax and enjoy your game

Then why did you say you have "Silly temperatures"? if you have 74c why would you say that? Why would you want to undervolt? 74c is absolutely normal. Anything below 90c is within range. I do not understand why we have been attempting to fix something that is not broken. There are users on here with temperature problems that would be very happy to get 80c

silly temperature is because i usually have 74c max, but now i have like 80 spikes to 89 for some seconds and get 83 stable spikes to 89 or even 90+ and i believe thats not normal 0.0

You said in your first post that your temperatures were "Silly" and you had 74c at that time. I would have told you not to do anything if you had said that your temps were 74c. Uninstall the package I pointed you to and go back to 74c and think yourself blessed. Sorry but I'm done now

Forget electronic forums, the manufacturer ACER build in the safe Throttling temperatures. Yes heat shortens the life of a laptop but this is a gaming laptop and you cant game with non gaming temperatures, there is a trade off. If you use your laptop for nothing else than watching videos and writing letters it will last forever but you want to game and that is HOT and no gaming laptop runs cool. The chart I posted above represent the official ACER temperatures and is far more accurate that any 3rd party website, after all Acer don't want to be repairing laptops under warranty because of high temperatures. Keep your temps 85c or below and you will be fine and repaste with Grizzly Kryonaut to get another 7 to 10 deg off

Up to 85'ish cpu it's just fine and 70/75 gpu max if you're temps are going way over contact acer support and get it repasted or if you can yourself without voiding your warranty with kryonaut or similar if you don't have any seals/stickers

Try to use either a laptop tablet cooler or a vacuum vent extraction cooler and that will reduce at least 15c to 25c temp from your laptop. You can under volt also and things will get even cooler.
