Hello guys,

i need to perform on my PH517-53 factory reset including format of HDD. Using standard Win10 reset or Alt+F10 Acer reset tool, dose not do the job, hdd is not format in both variant. Any idea how to have factory fresh PH517-53 with format HDD?

Dimi if your recovery partition its still intact the proper procedure its this one select delete everything option to a clean install if your recovery partition its corrupted you lost it nothing you can do you will have to use either media creation to (latest windows) or rufus to install the exact version you want on it

    Hello xapim,

the recovery partition is OK. I did clean reset of the system with option to wipe everything - it took 4 hours, at the end "new" installation of Win was on. But this did not solve may problem,i have some broken registry entry - don't ask me why. After this fresh reset i still have the same problems. Its important in this case is, that i also use one drive sync - is it possible win somehow to have copy of registry or at least app config with registry on one drive. I already remove sync from my system and also delete all sync data from one drive, except user files. Do you think that new attempt with factory reset will do the job without format hdd?

Dimi probbaly thats your issue dont login with your ms account just use a local user account instead and try a clean install again but first if youre able to get a 16gb usb drive and creat a stock recovery usb drive via care center for safe keeping

Dimi just try it with a local account and try disable the sync options (via browser before you add it to the device) for what you dont need in your ms account and then sign in to it  see how it goes hope it works :)
