Hey guys,

I have this laptop. Acer Predator 17 G9-792-71EF It's been around 5 years now. Upto date I had 0 troubles with this unbelievably amazing laptop. I pushed to extreme when it comes to renders and gaming too.

Just today it gave me this indication on the charging. Any idea what's the cause of this? Light goes from red>yellow>no light when plugged in. I tried red thing the battery, opened up the back casing and unplugged and reconnected the battery too😶

Please let me know if there's anything you can help me out on this. I have to open the laptop to do a project now it just starts and goes to sleep mode. :( Thanks!

5 years is a long time for a laptop battery, sorry but it's time for a new one. Yours is an older model and came with a Sanyo battery pack

@crep first check your battery wear with either hwinfo/battery bar pro or battery report but completely agree with @andylb 5 years for a gaming laptop  lithium ion battery its too much hopefully its the battery 😊

I couldn't check anything, because the laptop shuts out when starting the computer :( its gone that bad XD
Ok now I checked for suppliers (local acer importers)it seems like there's no one importing batteries anymore because of the situation in China.
I looked up in Amazon theres one available- but it doesnt have Acer logo :
I have a feeling I will wait around 2 weeks to see if the suppliers are back on track.

While I sadly wait for my battery I also noticed that gaming without the battery the performance seems to be a bit less. Is that normal?

You don't need the Acer Logo on the battery as long as it is the correct battery so go ahead and buy it. Check that your Power Plan is on High Performance when on AC
