Hi,

I just installed Crucial Ballistix 32GB (2 x 16GB) 260-Pin DDR4 SO-DIMM DDR4 3200

But the problem is that my laptop didn't recognize it and shows the max speed is 2667.

Any idea why is that happening?

Bandar its completely normal your cpu doesnt support 3200 one advice to everyone if you have a 7th gen cpu it will only support 2400mhz if you have 8gen up will support up to 2666 and thats it intel doesnt have any mobile cpu supporting 3200mhz yet and mostly all the benchmarks you see with 3200mhz ram are basically ryzen builds so dont waste your money on 3200mhz ram it will not work at least on stock bios.

Also some advice, personally i would keep away from crucial (some say its really good because its really cheap comparing with the proper brands (kingston/corsair etc) i disagree i had worked with them in the past and no more thanks) i have see cases where they say 100% compatible (as they always do in their home page) and it just doesnt work at all if anyone wants proper ram get either hyperx or vengeance thats the best/fastest you can get the lower the CL the batter and always make sure youre on dual channel

Thank you for your response. Mine has 9gen and I did that because I saw a post here from someone who did installed 3200 and it worked!

@Bandar if you go to the Intel specs for your cpu you will see that it does not support it and what u saw probably was someone with unlocked bios which it's not allowed and against the ACUA to even talk about it and I'm also against it it's a very risky procedure and with a bit of luck you'll end up with a bricked laptop
