Follow the instructions below and if I have answered your question please click YES

You can restore the operating system on your Acer Windows 10 computer by pressing the Alt and F10 keys when the computer starts to boot up.

    1. Press and hold the Power key for 5 seconds to power the system off completely.
    2. Turn on the computer and press the Alt and F10 keys at the same time immediately upon restart
    3. You should see a message that says "Please Wait" and your computer will boot to a blue screen that says "Choose an option."
    4. Select Troubleshoot.
    5. Click Reset this PC.
    6. Pick a recovery option: Keep my files or Remove everything.
    7. Click Next and follow the instructions on the screen.

Please click YES if I answered your question

thank you so much! I spent about an hour on the phone with microsoft tech support; even gave her remote control of the laptop in question. It was clear she really didn't know the answer to my query but she kept trying things, finally she set up something that she said could take up to two hours. While it was running I checked email and found your reply. When it finished running, nothing had changed so I tried your idea and it worked! The built in keyboard that had been stuck in numlock mode for months was working normally again! I'm sure glad that I hadn't paid for the support!
