Hey guys

Have my predator g9-591 for about 3 to 4 years now

Havent played alot on it until the last couple of months (surprised how many games this laptop could actually run when I started gaming on it)

I recently got hooked on the total war series, warhammer specifically. Warhammer 1 perfect no issues. I know from warhammer 2 my graphic card cant run it at the "recommended" settings cause its abit weaker. First off noproblems, it runs fine and all (everything on low just in case) but for those who know the game, when I end a turn or scroll back to see the map from above it beeps 2 times almost every time. I checked and it can be a CMOS damage thing or battery damaged not sure, I aint to clever here but, any way to look it up and fix it? Gonna check other games tomorrow but at the moment only noticed it at warhammer 2 game

Anyways thanks for reading this and taking the time to answer

Northman91 well it could indeed be the cmos battery as they wont last forever some brands last more than others but if it was the cmos battery everytime you would save any settings in the bios they wouldnt save as the battery its there to give power to the cmos in order to save any settings but i guess you could take it out and check it if its still good or needs replacing another thing i would like to know are u gaming on battery or on AC and if on AC (as it should be at all times) is the battery 100% charged before you start any game as you said WH2 its more demanding for your specs it could be battery drain and the charger trying to recharge it at the same time its trying to provide power to the cpu/gpu do you get any performance drops at all ??
I would probably check your battery wear just in case (because if the battery its faulty the laptop wont work as it should lets call the battery just an extra powerbank thats only there to help the adapter when this one needs to provide more power and cant) you can either check it with hwinfo/battery bar pro or battery report check the wear percentage between the designed capacity and the actual

    thanks @xapim for your anwser,

I noticed sometimes, I always play with the cord, that battery life drains veeeery slowly like I would play for hours and it would go for 100% to 95% but havent investigated yet if it is at all times, now it is at a 100% and throught the battery pro you sended me battery wear 14.5% or should I check somewhere else?

Performance drops arent that huge, when I end a turn or something there is a little lag spike but not for long

@Northman91 15/20% wear its fine (in fact it's great for 2/3 years I have about 11%wear on mine for 2 year's now always on ac 24/7 non stop) unfortunately there is nothing u can do regarding the battery drain you can try to optimize windows and undervolt  check here  https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/577183/throttlestop-undervolt-profiles-pre-made#latest

Also bare in mind the more external device's using the USB ports the more the battery will drain same goes to external displays

Well I am planning on getting a new gaming laptop in hopefully a year so hope this one holds out by then, noticed high memory use too, 58% is that bad or also an issue maybe for causing these non stop beeping? (noticed its sometimes 2, sometimes more, by checking it said memory can be a problem)

If you optimize windows and disable all the useless services you'll free up some memory also disabling everything in the startup not needed
