Hi. I'm having a problem where my acer predator helios 300 laptop throttles even when undervolting it with throttlestop or intel xtu. Is there any solution to this problem?

Storm573 if its thermal throttling (and properly undervolted) your only option its to either repaste it yourself with kryonaut or similar (if you can without voiding the warranty) if not contact acer support and send it back for a repaste.

PS: you cant use xtu and TS at the same time the undervolt will not work you have to remove xtu completely but first reset settings to defaults/remove it and shutdown(not restart) boot into bios and reset setup defaults then grab the ts conf for your cpu from here and see how it goes if youe temps are still the same or better if the same follow the other only options left above also are we talking about a H300 2019 or 17/18 ??? we need to know the exact models to be able to provide proper help.

Would repasting it stop the throttling?

Storm573 yes repasting with a proper thermal paste will stop any thermal throttling (spread method only a thin layer covering both diodes its enough too much thermal paste its bad) but you should keep windows optimized and undervolted after repaste it mine dropped down 25+ after repasting it first week i got it also as i said state your model number

Storm573 also make sure the fans are properly cleaned and the exit airflow and always keep the back lifted 2/3 inches for a proper airflow as i said if youre on warranty and have seals you cant do anything yourself you have to send it if not just get some kryonaut and repaste/clean it properly but carefully make sure you dont damage any thermal pads on disassembling the heatsink neither bend it in any way you would need a precision tool kit to have the proper screw drivers for all the screw types and pry tools to open the chassis

I think the problem might be airflow since I usually put it on a flat surface but the bottom fans get blocked.

Storm573 well if you think thats the problem just lift it and also check if your fans are clean and if theres a debris build up in the exit airflow either way if this is the case you have to get it cleaned but in the end repasting its the only proper solution
