Reading up about acers people seem to absolutely despise, they say they are faulty and such.

The thing is that they seem to offer best price for specs, I myself am thinking of getting ACER Aspire E15 E5-575G-51AM for 550e and the specs are absolute blast.

The thing that is putting me off is that its an acer.

Me myself never problems with acer products, i have a 7 years old acer LCD monitor and it still works today, but ofcourse I know that monitors arent the same thing as notebooks when it comes to relyability.

I bought an A717-72G refurbished for a good price, and here's what I can say about it from a little over a year of ownership.

    Pros:
    Great specs
    Nice design
    Reliable (so far)
    Anti-glare display

    Cons:
Build quality is a little questionable
    Tiny battery
    Data drive is 5400RPM

It doesn't feel like the sturdiest thing in the world, but I can't say I've had any major issues. I've heard many bad things about their older machines, but they seem to have cleaned up their act for the most part. If you think the E15 is a good fit for you, check out the product reviews and give it some consideration.

I have had the AN515-42 AMD gaming laptop for 2 years and it has been trouble free, my wife has Spin 3 and she loves it

my a315-41...what i like about it: you can disassembly the ***** thing very clear and easy. i needed that when i upgrade to a ssd m2. also, the cooling system seems to be very efficient.

the bad side...the battery is weak, only 37 wh and already 25% wear.

I agree on The ThinkPad part. I've used a ThinkPad E-530 for almost 6 years. It's a tank.

I dropped in a bag that had my laptop a few years ago after tripping over a curb. The cd tray popped off its hinge. Popped the tray back in and there was no damage. Laptop started up just fine.

I am looking for a new laptop because it's "time."
