Acer Predator G9-593 - NVIDIA GTX 1070 stopped working

February the 3rd 2020 I played some games with my friend on my Acer Predator G9-593 which runs on a GTX 1070. All was good until Nvidia Experience prompted me to install a driver update for my GPU. I did that, rebooted and there was no issue. I could still play all my games. The next day my PC started acting strange during boot, it would not show any boot screen and just turned black. I then rebooted a couple of times, and after waiting a while the PC displayed a faulty signal with lots of funky pixel-errors which is now there permanently flashing. The GPU has error code 43. What does this mean? Is there any way to fix it? Please help.

MoonwalkerLuke Well seems to me that your 1070 its partly toasted prob the best solution (assuming its out of warranty) and if you dont want to spend much on it its to stick with the egpu for gaming or the other would be try to get your hands on a donor mobo but that would be expensive and not worth the money in my view spending 400/500$+ in a donor mobo would be better getting a new laptop

An error 43 usually points to a driver issue it’s a general fault code saying the device didn’t initialize correctly. You can try a few things to fix this the first would be rollback the driver to an earlier version or try removing the driver then reboot the machine and see if windows will install a new " functioning driver “automatically.

>>>To roll back the driver, open device manager, Open device manager, Right-click the nvidia graphic card and select Properties. In Properties, select the Driver tab, select Roll Back Driver, then follow the steps. If the button is unavailable, that means there's no driver to roll back to.

Just we can reinstall the drivers. Go to device manager>select the nvidia graphic card> uninstall
Then restart the computer and it will reinstall the driver. Try to use it and check if it is working good
Click accept if its useful.....

I agree with my classmate @ Rade97. Perhaps the problem is in the 1909 version of windows, which is forcing the installation of the intel and nvidia dch drivers. It would be interesting to check if you are using standard or dch drivers.

I tried connecting it to a monitor with an EGPU. And there it was totally normal. So I’m pretty sure the GTX 1070 is causing the glitch. I’ve heard about baking GPUs that go bad to fix them. Should I try that? I’m only worried because the GPU sits on the motherboard which means that I need to bake the entire motherboard. At this point I’ve even tried factory resetting the PC, so somehow this must be hardware-related. I have no warranty, so what do I do?

I would like to know if the image is displayed correctly, when you connect an external monitor directly to the notebook's hdmi port, without using egpu?

So... I've tried a few things now, and it took a long time, but finally I fixed it... (almost). I noticed a warning in Device Manager diplayed on Intel(R) Xeon(R) E3 - 1200/1500 v5/6th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) PCIe Controller (x16) - 1901. The error said it couldn't launch the device because the configurationinfo was missing or corrupted. (Code 19). So after hisetating for som hours, I decided to delete it. But first I deleted the GPU drivers and paniced a bit when my PC couldn't find my GPU. But deleting the device with the warning somehow prompted the GTX 1070 to show up and ask for an update. This fixed everything!!
For a while... Now the display only turnes to trash when I play games, then after a restart It sometimes looks normal, and sometimes it boots up with a faulty display. I'm pretty sure this is hardware related now. Any ideas? The current situation is what you can see from the pictures. When the display is faulty as shown previously, I try disconnecting then reconnecting the device in the manager. But the display still shows a faulty picture, even with the GPU off. However when the GPU works, the display shows a clean image no matter if the GPU is connected or disconnected... Very weird.

Where is the intel hd630 video card? Is it appearing as a hidden device?

Maybe you are correct @xapim. But it is strange that the intel hd 530 video card is not showing up in the device manager.

As you can see I am in a game when this “Space Invaders-artifacting” happens. I was just wondering why it is sometimes fixed after a reboot. It’s very strange... The PC’s warranty has just expired... lucky me. Do you think my insurance will cover stuff like this? I mean... with it being a problem that occurs occasionally, although quite often now.
i have no idea where to find the Intel HD graphics if it is present at all.

I wouldn't know how to do that. Iv'e just looked through all the subsections and there is nothing called Intel HD 530.

Just now after attempting (but failing) to install the VGA-graphics driver from the Acer website. The Device Manager displayed this:

OK, I have no idea what I did. But I disabled, deleted and updated a few drivers that showed warning signs and now the GPU is back to normal... For now. I bet the issue will come back as soon as I start playing games for a while.
