    Do you just need to download an ISO and store it on the flash drive, or do you need to flash the ISO to the drive, giving you a bootable image?

    Thanks for answering billsey. Yes I need to flash the iso to the drive to get a bootable image. I want a fresh distribution of Ubuntu to put on my Dell latitude 2120 .I'm operating on a Chromebook OS 15 so I am not sure how to do this at all. Thank you so much for responding.

    Here is a link to an article showing how to burn a flash drive using an ISO on a Chromebook. The key is the Chromebook Recovery Utility also allows you to burn a local image, not just the one from Google.

    Linux in general has issue with proper Widevine DRM support, that is the reason why Amazon and Disney and many other streaming services do not support linux.

    If you have a chromebook, why not watch it on your chrome browser in chromebook, to my knowledge chrome on chromeos is still supported.

     also having trouble signing into live patch.
    For live patch you need to have 18.04 LTS version, preferably a Ubuntu distro. Non-LTS versions are not supported.

    Then you need to create an Ubuntu one account, create a key there, so you can assign the key to max 3 linux installations. On your laptop you need to install the canonical live patch client and assign the key:

    $ sudo snap install canonical-livepatch
    $ sudo canonical-livepatch enable <key>

    Under "Software updater" gui, tab Live patch, you can check if there are live patch updates.
