I am planning to upgrade my laptop with additional RAM. I'm confused whether to opt for 8GB or 16GB RAM. The existing configured RAM size is 4GB-Single Channel. The seller website shows that the maximum expandable RAM size for this laptop is only 12GB. Would like to know from acer experts whether to go for 16GB or 8GB Crucial RAM.
Also it would be great, if you specify the maximum M2 SATA SSD disk size and whether 480GB - WDS480G2G0B M2 SATA SSD is compatible with this laptop?

Model Number: A315-53-P4MY
Part Number:NX.H38SI.010
Processor: Intel Pentium Gold 4417U - 2.3GHz
OS: Windows 10 Home 64 Bit
Mainboard: KBL Metapod_KL V2.02
Bios: Insyde Corp V2.02
Country: India

Thank you very much for going through this post.

Regards

    Good afternoon IntroJ !

As for RAM, this model supports a maximum of 20Gb (4Gb being integrated into the motherboard and only one slot available for up to 16Gb) So-DIMM DDR4 1866 / 2133Mhz

As for SSD, this model has support for M.2 2280 Sata 3 slot SSD up to 256gb tested by Acer.
You will have no problem using capacities up to 512Gb.

The above picture shows that you can increase the RAM upto 16G but it depends upon how many slots your unit has

This series does not support PCIe SSD with NVME support, only Sata 3 standard

The M.2 2280 slot in this series only supports Sata 3 SSD.

I have disassembled my a315 53 p4my. The m.2 slot has only M key, then how it would support sata(has two keys) and not nvme(has one key). Please help me on this, as I'm going to buy new ssd and in need of faster one.
