This is my first visit so I apologize in advance if this is something I should have known.  I want to move to an SSD and recently learned about m.2 SSD and NVME, but I'm confused when trying to determine if NVME is suitable for my computer.  The PCI Express shows different values for the four different ports and I don't understand which one is relevant to this question.
Port #1 shows version 3.0 , maximum link width is 4x,
Port #9 shows v3.0, max link width is 2x,
Port #11 shows v3.0, max link width 1x, and
Port #12 shows v3.0, max link width 1x.
I will try to attach the HWiNFO if I can find how to do that.

Thanks for any assistance

This model has the same bios and practically the same motherboard as the f5-573. The f5-573 model with seventh generation processors supports nvme and I believe the e5-774 will also support nvme.

If you check the Acer website for models f5-573 and model e5-774, you will see that both have the same bios. There was a user in the Portuguese community who successfully installed a 2tb nvme on the f5-573 model.

Sorry, the model should read E-17  E5-774G-582T
I'm also wondering what size SSD I should get.  My HDD is 1000 GB, but I noted on another post that a 774G should only use 256GB SSD.

Thank-you!  Is there a limit to the SSD size I can use?  I was thinking about 1 TB as that is what my HDD is.  I plan to use the HDD as a back-up.
